\Seyi Tinubu Denies ₦20 Million Donation to Actress Sarah Martins’ Foundation
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has refuted claims that he donated ₦20 million to Nollywood actress Sarah Martins’ Golden Heart Foundation. He clarified that while some of his friends contributed funds out of compassion to help Martins after her clash with Lagos environmental officials, he personally did not make any donation and does not support any actions that break state laws.
In a statement shared on his Instagram Story on Friday, Seyi explained that his friends’ intention was to assist Martins in finding a legal and suitable location for her charity activities, not to challenge the law. “I appreciate their kindness and concern,” he wrote, adding that although their motives were good, “I do not support any act that violates the laws of Lagos State.”
He further emphasized the importance of upholding order, stating that “Lagos thrives on law and order, and Nigeria’s strength depends on our collective respect for both.” Seyi urged citizens to show empathy responsibly and within the boundaries of the law.
The clarification comes after Sarah Martins announced on Instagram that Seyi Tinubu had given her ₦20 million to support her NGO and promised to elevate her charity outreach. Her claim quickly went viral, attracting widespread attention and skepticism online.
Martins had earlier accused officials of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps of disrupting her charity outreach in Lekki, confiscating her equipment, and causing her minor burns during the confrontation.
Responding to the incident, the Lagos State Government defended the actions of its officers, insisting that Martins violated environmental and safety regulations by cooking on a public road median. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, noted that while the government welcomes charitable acts, they must comply with laws to prevent obstructions and ensure public safety.Seyi Tinubu Denies ₦20 Million Donation to Actress Sarah Martins’ Foundation
