Fubara Attends First APC National Convention Since Defection

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Saturday made his first appearance at the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The convention, held at Eagle Square in Abuja, marked a significant step in Fubara’s integration into the ruling party after officially joining the APC in December 2025.

Governor Fubara was received by delegates from Rivers State and other party members, highlighting growing support for his alignment with the APC at both state and national levels. His presence at the high-level gathering signals a consolidation of his position within the party structure.

The two-day convention, which commenced on March 27, is expected to address key party matters, including leadership decisions and strategic planning ahead of future elections.

Fubara’s attendance comes amid ongoing political realignments in Rivers State, as he continues to strengthen his foothold within the APC and expand his influence within the party’s national framework.
