Thank God for Peter Obi’s Security Who Stood Tall At The Gate And Over Powered them – Peter Obi’s Aide

Esther Umo, the media aide of the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has explained how Obi and other ADC leaders escaped from gunmen who trailed them.

Her statement was contained in a post that she shared on her official X handle on February 24, 2026.

This is coming after it was reported that Peter Obi, former governor of Edo state, John Odigie Oyegun and some ADC leaders escaped assassination attempt.

In the post that surfaced online, Umo stated that the assailants trailed them from the secretariat of the African Democratic Congress, ADC. She said they were able to escape because of Peter Obi’s security team who held their ground at the gate of John Odigie Oyegun.

“They literally trailed us from the party secretariat and opened fire at the residence of a former governor of the state. Thank God for Peter Obi’s security team who held their ground at the gate and stopped them from gaining access”.
