This timer runs entirely in your browser. Closing the tab or clearing your browser storage will stop it and clear today's count — nothing is saved anywhere else.

About this tool

Study Timer is a Pomodoro-style focus timer. You work in short, timed bursts, then take a real break, which helps many people concentrate better and avoid burning out. A common pattern is 25 minutes of work followed by a 5-minute break.

Everything stays on the page you are looking at. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Decide what you are going to work on in this session.
  2. Start the focus timer and work on that one thing until it ends.
  3. Take the break when the timer says so. Stand up, stretch and drink water, and stay off social media.
  4. Repeat. After a few rounds, take a longer break.

Example

You have a chapter to revise. Set the focus timer and read for 25 minutes, with your phone out of reach. When the timer rings, take a 5-minute break, then start the next round. After four rounds you have done about two hours of focused study.

Tips

  • Write down what you want to finish before you press start.
  • If you finish early, use the remaining time to review, not to start something new.
  • Keep the tab open while the timer is running.
