Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has called for an open and inclusive dialogue on the future of the Igbo people and Nigeria’s unity. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Soludo said it is time for Igbos — including those with separatist views — to come together and discuss their shared future peacefully.

He emphasized that every Igbo voice deserves to be heard, whether they support remaining in Nigeria or seek independence. “We must all sit in a room and debate our future. Nobody has more rights than the other — we are all Igbos,” Soludo stated.

The governor reiterated that violence and agitation cannot solve the region’s challenges. Instead, he called for a collective focus on building a “liveable and prosperous homeland” where Igbos can thrive socially and economically.

Soludo’s comments come amid renewed calls for the release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and growing debates about Nigeria’s structure and unity. He stressed that peace, dialogue, and governance must take priority over confrontation.

For Nigeria’s youth, Soludo’s message highlights the power of inclusive dialogue and civic engagement in shaping the nation’s destiny. Through participation, innovation, and unity, he said, young people can help chart a better path for the country and its regions.
