Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has expressed frustration over low earnings from music streaming despite releasing multiple tracks.
In a recent video, the Zazu crooner lamented that his revenue from Apple Music is too low, even with fans in Nigeria and abroad. He appealed to music executive Don Jazzy for guidance on increasing his streaming income.
“I have been putting my songs on Apple Music every month, but the money I am generating is too low,” Portable said. “They said it’s because Nigerian streams are cheap, but I also have fans in America and all over the world. Where is the revenue from those foreign streams?”
He added, “Don Jazzy, please help me and teach me how to generate more money from music streams. If Don Jazzy teaches me, I would be bigger than all artistes in Nigeria.”
