Political tension is rising in Kaduna as the son of former governor Nasir El-Rufai has vowed to fight back against what he calls a media campaign targeting his father.
The lawmaker representing Kaduna North in the House of Representatives, and son of the former governor, made it clear that he will not sit quietly while his father’s name is dragged into controversy involving the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) .
According to him, no media attack aimed at damaging his father’s image will succeed as long as he is alive and active. He promised to respond “day and night” to any report he considers false. He also warned that if what he believes to be another misleading report is released, he will publicly share photographs of items allegedly taken from his father’s residence during a raid.
He claimed the materials were documented by an agent during the operation and insisted that transparency must guide public discussions. In his words, truth and facts should lead the conversation, especially when serious allegations are involved.
His bold statement has sparked debate across Nigeria.
