Popular Nigerian influencer and philanthropist Mukoro Michelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, has finally broken her silence following rumours of her alleged death that spread widely across social media.
The controversy initially started after King Mitchy boasted about completing the renovation of a school within six days and subsequently called out VeryDarkMan, urging him to begin using the NGO funds donated by Nigerians for developmental projects.
The speculation began in the early hours of February 28, 2026, after a post allegedly shared by her management claimed that the influencer had consumed a substance identified as hypo and later died in the hospital amid the backlash surrounding her online feud with activist VeryDarkMan.
The situation soon escalated into a heated online exchange, with both parties trading accusations. VeryDarkMan alleged that King Mitchy was being sponsored by President’s son Seyi Tinubu and claimed she received ₦100 million to renovate the school — an allegation she later denied. The activist accused King Mitchy of sucking the Lollipop of Seyi Tinubu.
VeryDarkMan also criticised the influencer over what he described as a disrespectful remark directed at the Ooni of Ife, further intensifying the controversy.
Taking to her Instagram page later on, King Mitchy confirmed that she is alive and well, putting an end to the rumours about her alleged death. She shared a video showing her mother giving an update on the school project she had earlier claimed to complete in six days, revealing that the renovation is still ongoing.
She goes emotional in her lengthy post, stressing that she grew up without a father and by extension, she won’t allow anyone to break her at this point in her life as she will keep doing good.
She accompanied the video with the caption, “A lot of people have a lot to say about me lately… questioning my intentions, dragging my name, and trying to discredit something I did from my heart.
Yes, I renovated that school. I didn’t do it for validation. I did it because I understand what it means to grow up without certain privileges.
But what hurts me the most is how quick people are to judge when they don’t know anything about my life.
You don’t know where I’m coming from.
I grew up without a father. If I see my father today, I wouldn’t even recognize him. The only time I ever saw him was when I was about 8 years old, and my mother took me to the prison to see him. That was it.
You don’t know what it feels like to grow up like that.
You don’t know the strength it takes to keep going, to build yourself, to stand on your own Yet, every day, people sit behind their phones and try to tear me down, insult me, bully me, and make me feel like I’m nothing.
But let me say this clearly your words do not define me.
My story did not break me, it built me and everything I do, I do it with a genuine heart.
But don’t try to rewrite my truth.
I will keep growing and I will keep doing good
