Currency Converter

Convert between world currencies, including the Naira, using daily reference rates.

Loading exchange rates…

Daily reference rates, blended from central banks worldwide — not live trading data. Good for a quick estimate, not for time-sensitive financial decisions.

About this tool

Currency Converter shows how much an amount is worth in another currency, including the Naira, using daily reference exchange rates. It helps you get a feel for prices abroad, compare costs, or work out roughly what a payment will be.

These are reference rates, not the rate a bank, a money-transfer service or a bureau de change will give you. Those usually add a margin or fees. Only the public rates are downloaded. The amounts you type stay on your device.

How to use it

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Choose the currency you are converting from and the one you are converting to.
  3. Read the converted amount and the rate that was used.
  4. Swap the currencies if you want to see the reverse.

Example

You see a laptop priced at 500 US dollars and want a rough idea of the cost in Naira. Enter 500, choose USD to NGN, and the converter shows the amount at the daily reference rate. Add a margin for bank fees when you plan your budget.

Tips

  • Compare the reference rate with the actual rate you are offered. The difference is part of what you pay.
  • Rates move. Check again close to the time you pay.

Questions people ask

How often are the rates updated?

The rates are daily reference rates, so they do not move second by second.

Can I trade or send money with this rate?

No. It is for information. Your bank or payment provider sets the rate you actually get.

Why does my bank show a different amount?

Banks and transfer services add their own margin and fees to the market rate.

Are my amounts stored?

No. They stay on your device.

For information only. Rates are indicative, not an offer to buy or sell currency, and not financial advice.
