About this tool

Certificate Generator designs a certificate of completion, achievement or appreciation that you can download as a PDF. Teachers, trainers, clubs and event organisers use it to recognise people who finished a course, won a competition or helped out.

What you type is used on your device to build the PDF, and nothing is uploaded.

A good certificate says clearly who it is for, what they did, who is awarding it and on what date. Keeping those four things accurate matters more than decoration, because the certificate is only useful if someone can later tell what it is for.

How to use it

  1. Choose the type of certificate and a layout.
  2. Enter the recipient name, the reason for the award, the date and who is signing.
  3. Check the preview for spelling and spacing.
  4. Download the PDF to print or send.

Example

A trainer finishes a three-day workshop. They choose a completion certificate, enter the participant name, the workshop title and the date, and download a PDF for each participant to print.

Tips

  • Proofread names carefully. Misspelled names are the most common mistake on certificates.
  • Print on good paper for a more formal look.
  • Use the real course or event name so the certificate means something to the person who receives it.
