Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has ordered an immediate reinforcement of security across Osun’s border communities following a recent violent attack in neighboring Kwara State.
The directive comes amid growing concerns over the possible spillover of criminal activities into Osun communities that share boundaries with Kwara. Governor Adeleke emphasized that his administration will not wait for any threat to escalate before taking decisive action to protect lives and property.
According to a statement released by the state government, security agencies have been instructed to increase patrols, intelligence gathering, and surveillance in all vulnerable border towns. The governor also directed close collaboration between Osun security operatives and their counterparts in Kwara to ensure timely information sharing and coordinated responses.
Governor Adeleke reassured residents that the state government remains fully committed to maintaining peace and stability across Osun. He urged citizens, especially those in border areas, to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to security authorities.
The Osun State Government noted that proactive security measures are critical at this time, stressing that the safety of residents remains a top priority. Authorities also warned criminal elements that Osun State will not tolerate any form of insecurity or lawlessness within its borders.
Residents have been advised to go about their lawful activities calmly, as the government continues to strengthen its security architecture to prevent any threat from taking root in the state.
