Renowned Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has candidly shared one of the most painful chapters of his personal life, revealing how love once led him to make a costly gesture he now regrets.
In a recent livestream chat with TikTok influencer Sandra Benede, Sabinus described his past experience with love as “cruel,” relating profoundly to the emotionally charged situation Nigerian social media star Peller found himself in after a much-publicised breakup.
Sabinus recounted how he once bought a Range Rover for a woman he was deeply in love with, only for the relationship to end later. Reflecting on the outcome, he admitted that he regretted the extravagant gift.
“I once gifted a girl a Range Rover because of love. She later left me. I regretted it,” Sabinus said, urging Nigerians to empathise with others going through heartbreak instead of being quick to judge.
The entertainer used his own experience to support Peller, who has been trending on social media following his emotional reactions after parting ways with his partner. Sabinus stressed that sometimes love pushes people to make grand gestures, and when it ends, the emotional cost can be heavy.
This revelation also comes amid Sabinus confirming the end of his marriage to Ciana Chapman, the mother of his child, during a December 2025 TikTok livestream — a union that lasted just over a year after their private wedding in 2023.
